Former European Parliament president Pat Cox has thrown his hat in the ring with a view to securing a presidential nomination from Fine Gael.

I doubt Cox will get the Fine Gael nomination ahead of Mitchell. Besides he would be wasting his talent in the Park. In any case I won’t voting for either of them. I only hope there is an independent candidate in the race.

if he hadnt gone down the “flag of convinience” route
