I’ll be voting Yes in the upcoming same sex marriage referendum but I fully agree with prominent Catholic Nuala O’Loan that the call for a Yes vote by the Garda Representative Association constitutes political engagement by the Gardai.
The Minister and Garda Commissioner should take immediate steps to halt the continuing dangerous politicalisation of the police force.
